The diversity of the Ò»±¾µÀ community plays an essential part in providing all students with a global education that prepares them for the future world of work. While Ò»±¾µÀ has only a small number of international students, these young men contribute greatly to the overall fabric of our School and enhance cultural understanding.
Students in our boarding houses hail from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Japan, the United Kingdom, Russia, the United States, Canada, Fiji and South Africa – forging firm friendships with each other, fellow boarders and local students. They have become keen ambassadors for Ò»±¾µÀ, making the most of the opportunities on offer that may not have been available at home.
Our international students are fully supported from both an academic and wellbeing perspective, enabling them to achieve their learning goals. Several staff members are responsible for the boys’ ongoing care, including two dedicated International Student Coordinators who facilitate their entry and transition into the School.
Upon arrival at Hale, international students participate in an orientation programme to familiarise themselves with Perth, the School and one another, with former students joining the new boys to act as mentors. The International Student Group enjoys social outings, discussions and mutual support.
Entrance to Ò»±¾µÀ for international students is based on a number of criteria, including English language competence and academic progress. We look to develop well-rounded young men; a boy’s co-curricular activities, interpersonal and communication skills as well as their willingness to be involved in the school community, will be equally important in the selection process.

I am fortunate to be able to attend Hale. The people are friendly and engaging and the boys here make it one of the best experiences I have ever had. On top of that, Ò»±¾µÀgives us the opportunity to go through an ATAR pathway, has great facilities - complete wood/metal focused workshop and music centre, and even tutoring. This allows us boys to pursue what we enjoy into possible careers.
